Gallery Space Booking
This page is dedicated to the booking of the Gallery Space specifically for the purpose of running exhibits and displays. To book the space for other event purposes, please refer to our Events Policy page for rates.
Rates
Members may book the space for $240+GST to cover up to 10 days for exhibit purposes.
Non-Members may book the space for $350+GST to cover up to 10 days for exhibit purposes.
*Rates are as of May 4th, 2022 and are subject to change. Existing pre-paid bookings will be honored at the rate posted when they paid for their bookings. Quoted bookings may be re-quoted to new rates if updated.
These rates are merely for the permitting of leaving exhibit in place overnight for up to 10 consecutive days and covers the associated short term storage fees. No other services are offered with this booking fee. Additional charges may incur for extra services/support.
The booking starts on the day the setup begins . If you require additional days for setup and take down there will be an extra charge depending on how many days/hours needed.
The booking of the space is not official until it is paid for.
MakerLabs can assist with vacating the area of any carts, materials, projects, furniture parked in the area the day prior to the expected exhibit start date as long as the event booking invoice is paid.
*Exceptions can be made for members utilizing the walls/space during the Culture Crawl events but must be discussed with staff first.
Wall Usage
Given the level of activity on the ground level on a daily basis, the conditions of the walls cannot be guaranteed by MakerLabs prior to their use. We have some expectations for users to help prolong the longevity of the walls.
Exhibitors are responsible for positioning the walls to their anticipated arrangement themselves and must restore it back to the original position at the end of their exhibit.
Exhibitors are responsible for touching up/patching up the walls to their preferred condition at their own expense.
Out of courtesy to future users, users who make noticeably large sized holes/significant number of holes are requested to at the very least patch them up at the end of their use so it will be less work for the next user.
Users that damage the wall significantly however will be required to arrange the repairs of the wall at their own expense (whether that is repairing it themselves or paying a fee calculated based on the amount of damage).
Space Expectations
Users must keep their items within the perimeter of the gallery space.
It is recommended to bring in cones/poles to section off the gallery so no one cuts through the space while the exhibit is in place and/or other items are parked in/around the gallery.
The podiums/display stands in the gallery spaces are welcome for use by the exhibitors but must be tucked away when the exhibit ends.
Running celebratory opening/launch/departure events for the exhibit falls under our Event Booking policies and are subjected to the Event policies and associated fees.
It is recommended to post signage for when the Exhibit is in place, as well as when there will be curators/artists on site to meet with visitors/customers.
If opening the exhibit to the public, please ensure all visitors sign in at the front desk when they come by.
When not officially booked for events/exhibits, MakerLabs will utilize the gallery space however they deem necessary.
