Donations Policy

MakerLabs is increasing efforts in mitigating the amount of clutter it amasses each year.

Donations within MakerLabs are permitted as long as you take the following steps:

• • Call out to the Members via Slack

    • Post in the marketplace channel to let other members know you are interested in selling or donating materials/goods

    • Item(s) must remain in the member’s studio space, or off-site if you do not have a studio space, until claimed

    • Item(s) that are not contained within a member’s space and/or must occupy communal use space will be subjected to short term storage fees until removed

MakerLabs is trying to avoid accepting donations at this time to limit the amount of clutter it takes in

• • • You’re welcome to discuss it with community staff first and if we can find an immediate, practical use we may accept it

    • If we foresee that it will just sit idly we will have to respectfully decline and encourage you to find alternative solutions

Our dumpsters are also meant as staff use only to process facility waste. Discarding a significant amount of personal items will be subjected to a dumping fee starting at $15+GST. Pricing will vary depending on volume.

We believe in responsible dispersal. Please look into the appropriate channels for disposal/donating of your items if you are unable to find another user for them.
